Framing a paper sculpture

This is a beautiful Indian sculpture made from paper. Originally it was in an ammature quality box frame made from glass, which fell and smashed. Luckily the artwork was not damaged considering how delicate it is. The customer came to our shop to have it reframed in something much more robust and elegant.

We decided on this frame because it’s made from solid timber, and the golden, ornate decoration compliments the character of the sculpture perfectly. The side fillets on the inside of the frame are of the same colour as the figure, which because of their light and neutral appearance, causes the effect of the elaborate frame to not be too oppressive on the artwork.
